Value Portfolio

A value portfolio is for investors looking to gain exposure into companies that are perceived to be mispriced and that their longer term value is greater than the the current price. They tend to be well established companies that pay decent dividends.

There is always the debate between growth portfolios and value portfolios and believe it or not, historically, over long time periods, a value based portfolio has outperformed a growth based portfolio. One isn’t necessarily better than the other, they serve different purposes and can be used effectively (even concurrently) at the right times. Value based portfolios tend to hold up better during bear markets. Despite being often perceived as boring companies, a value portfolio has proven its long term value to a patient investor. This portfolio is based on an M1 Finance Portfolio.
